Organic, local & seasonal foods

Simply put, organic, lolocal and seasonal foods are just the best foods for you in terms of nourishment, nutrients, environment and energy. While you may not follow an organic menu all of the time, pregnancy and nursing are a great time to incorporate organic, whole foods into your diet. At Mothers & Menus, our meals are mostly organic meaning that we use only USDA Organic proteins, greens and grains, and organic whenever possible for the rest of our produce and foods. We also visit our local Greenmarket at Union Square weekly for seasonal produce from the passionate and committed local farmers.

When you follow a balanced, whole foods based diet, you can olose weight naturally, without deprivation or foods with chemical-substitutes. If your problem is extra energy for carrying or nursing twins, a ravenous baby, or recovery from a difficult delivery, we will add on extra calories to meet your needs.

When you start with quality, clean food, you want to show it off. We don’t aim to wow you with a hundred different ways of preparing chicken. We keep it simple and basic, and focus on the natural delicious flavors of the food, with our creativity going into the discerning sauces that highlight the foods’ flavors. At Mothers & Menus, our meals are comprised of multiple courses – such as soup, salad and sandwich for lunch. We fill your fridge with foods that are nourishing and work well with your body’s natural flow so you can eat a lot and still lose weight naturally. And if there’s ever too much, we love to hear about other hungry family members enjoying the overflow. When you are ready to decrease your intake, we adapt your menu appropriately, making sure to keep you satiated with real, whole foods.

Starting with a conversation that explores your physical and emotional eating needs, through to a daily menu that is created bearing your needs in mind. We have some limits to how customized we can get within our budget. But if we reach those limits, we’ll let you know, and find a compromise.
